Teamwork appears in the form you less expect it. The picture above shows a few ants piling one over another to reach a surface, representing teamwork. Teamwork happens in everyday life. One weekend, my mother sent me to install the cable box in my grandma's television. My grandma was talking to me while I was trying to plug the cable wire in the box. I was stock for a moment because the cable wire did not want to come in. That wire was the last step to install the box before recording the channels. My mother came and saw me struggling. Then, she called my father, who appeared a moment later. He plugged the cable as if the wire was bathed with "Manteca".
Afterward, we had to record the channels. No channel was available yet because we have not notified this box to the cable company, so we called mom to do the call on the phone for us. I had to ready to unplug and plug wires as the voice on the phone instructed, while dad was changing the channels to check if these became available. My grandma was watching at us with a laughing smile. The channels began to appear, signaling our victory over the task.
Just like these kind of moments happen in all times, whether you help a cooker with the chop of meat, or when you suggest a few fixes in a composition paragraph. In fact, it is hard to point out that we do things all alone. Also, teamwork can be seen in the economy, each individual is specialized in something. A person may be good at electronics but bad at selling, while another person is good at selling the electronic device but bad at constructing the electronics.

I love how your family are good with teamwork. your blog is almost like want my family do, we always help one another to just like you do. Do you have a larger family?
ReplyDeleteHi Raul, it is good to hear that you and your family are having teamwork to solve some things that happening to all of you. I believe that teamwork is very important to solve and do everything fast and perfect, and not only that having teamwork with your family also makes bonding to each other so to be more connected and close. This topic is a perfect example for kapwa and In Lak’ech, the one that we studying in class, I have a blog post that talked about it you can check it at louiselovessyou.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHi, there. I liked how everyone contributed into solving a problem. I agreed that we are all excellent at a certain things. I can relate to the situation you had. What if you didn't have your family to helped you? Would you have accomplished it anyways?
ReplyDeleteHey Raul. First, I like the picture for your blog. I’d definitely use that if I was blogging about teamwork. Second, I like the fact that you and your family are helping each other to solve problems. Teamwork is always needed for people to accomplish something. Your topic made me think of my grade school days where my friends offer me help on building a school project. I was in-charge of food, my friend was in-charge of the sticks, and my other friend has the glue and scissors. I remember we got an A+ on that project. It’s always important to have teamwork and you need to be a team player to reach your goal. Check my blog out and you’ll see how you can relate this topic on my topic of Kapwa.
ReplyDeleteHey Raul! I really enjoyed the topic of your blog and how it related to your life. I agree with you in that teamwork is more recognized for its attributes rather than a lone person. The only thing that I could think as criticism is that you can tie in this concept of teamwork into the Bayan class. Other than that, I thought this entree was excellent and I hope to read similar post like this one. :)
ReplyDeleteHey, I liked the picture of the aunts helping each other. I also liked how you used your own personal experience as an example for readers to understand how simple family routines can become teamwork. When you said "Manteca" it would be useful to put (butter) next to manteca for the non Spanish readers.
ReplyDeleteNice blog post Raul! The picture of the ant really caught my attention and I really liked the first sentence of your post. It made me think back at times where I went through teamwork with random people at random moments. I was wondering though, what in the world is a Manteca? I know that since I’m on a computer, some might just say why don’t you google it? Some people (like me) are kind of lazy you know?
ReplyDeleteRaul you've shared a really great story among the concept teamwork, I was able to create an image in my head and visualize the parts where you were indicating humor. This post made me think about my senior year in chemistry class where we had to do group experiments with our lab partners. Like your story, everyone was doing something and all of the things we were doing connected upon one another. I suggest you add some dialogue in your post, just to give us a brief picture of what was being said throughout your story. I believe it would really bring out the sense of humor in your blog a bit more.
ReplyDeleteHello i like the part in you dicussion where you dicuss that teamwork appears in the form that you less expect. your post made me think about my asl class my first semester of college when we had to do a project just by using our hands that is another form of teamwork. This might help you if you add a video about the different forms of teamwork also by adding some details. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI love your concept of "teamwork" its very simple but it is a important function that humans need. For example i used to hate to cook so every time when my mom cooks she will literally force me to help her and due time i will learn to love to cook. That concept of "teamwork" is a big part of it because we learn a lot from each other mother and son. So i like your blog of "teamwork"
ReplyDeleteRaul,
ReplyDeleteI like the way you use ants to sample Teamwork, they are one of the hardest working animals with the bees in my opinion. Have you thought about using a company as a reference in team work? I mean in one company, it is required for departments working together to get a good quality product at the end. Another idea on using a video for samples would be the movie "Toy Story 3", when they are trying to escape, they work as teamwork.
Hi Raul! It was a pleasure to read your blog and your insights on teamwork. It is interesting the different forms that teamwork can take. I liked your example of the economy! There are so many aspects of what a team can be and ways they can function. I think we take for granted how the structor of a team functions in our day to day lives when we don't even realize it is happening. The economy was a perfect example of this. As humans we have learned that more can be accomplished by using the skills of others and not just humans but other species as well. Have you checked out the youtube video that shows the image you have above in live action? Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7gF3hDoUqk. If you get the chance it is completely crazy to watch the teamwork of these ants unfold! Thanks again Raul for sharing you insites! Be Well.

Raul,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading the example you gave where you all were trying to get the cable on for your grandmother. From assuming it was going to be a small one man job, turned into involving the whole family. This was a perfect illustration of how often we use teamwork, and that it DOES come when you least expect it. This blog made me think about a lot of the times I let teamwork go unnoticed, it happens so often throughout the day that you tend to overlook it. With time, I think you probably could have gotten the job done yourself, but having your parents help seemed like it was more enjoyable for all of you, you got the job done faster and your grandmother certainly got a laugh out of it. I really like the example of the ants with the picture as well, have you considered talking a little more about how they use teamwork in other tasks. Maybe give a list of how often and necessary it is for them to use it.
Your post was very interesting and I really liked what you wrote about. Teamwork happens in places and times that we don’t even notice. I also like how you tied in a personal example of teamwork to show credibility. You should look into Umoja because I believe it is very similar to what you are talking about in the blog post.
ReplyDeleteHello your blog was very interesting. The picture also caught my attention. It was a great illastration of how we use teamwork, and it happens when you least ecpect it. I dont think you should change anything.
ReplyDeleteHello. The picture you choose for this blog caught my eye and goes well with the topic of this blog. I agree with the idea that “teamwork appears in the form you less expect” because as you said and as shown in the picture, the ants are showing a perfect form of teamwork. Most definitely not the first thing you think of when you think of teamwork. This entry made me think about the different ways I perform teamwork with other people on an every day basis. Consider thinking about translating “Manteca” because people who don’t know that language may not know what that means. Great post (:
